Advocacy

Advocates come in all forms. They may be people living with sickle cell, parents, caregivers, spouses, children, researchers, physicians, politicians, or friends. Whatever form you take as an advocate is important in raising awareness. The more people share their story the better our chances of seeing real change that will lead to improved quality of life. Together we will let the world know that sickle cell disease is not just a "black disease" but a disease that affects millions of people world wide.

Be sure to check back to learn how you can get involved in advocacy efforts. We will highlight advocates and advocacy organizations to keep you up-to-date with those in the sickle cell community working on your behalf. We will also provide information regarding bills/legislation that affects you and your love one. If you would like to share your story or have someone you would like highlighted send us an email at sicawre@gmail.com.
